Bay or Beachside

You only need to take one look at the beach and realise this is the most beautiful place on the planet
Chris Blackwell, founder of Island Records

Situated just one hour flight away from Fort Lauderdale or Miami, Harbour Island has become one of the chicest island haunts for celebrities, the very rich, and those who just want to chill out. The island is tiny, just half a mile wide and over three miles long - yet the international airport is just a ten minute land and water taxi trip away.

Its huge attraction is the world class pink coral beach that stretches all along its eastern coast for over three miles. But it has also got a reputation as being hosts to some of the friendliest people in the Caribbean, where being able to walk about, visit restaurants, local bars and clubs is both easy and safe. The island has a canvas of picturesque historic clapboard houses with picket fences and cute gardens. Added to this there is world class fishing, both deep-sea and angling, some excellent diving and snorkelling and some wonderful restaurants.

The sand is truly pink, the water truly aquamarine, and there are so few people around that it feels like yours alone

Harbour Island is truly one of the most exclusive islands in the world
Sir Trevor MacDonald

Harbour Island offers two great alternatives for the vacationer.

Beautiful homes on the Beach with their views of the pink sands, deep blue Atlantic water and a smattering of turquoise shallows. The beach side offers a variety of beach homes, many with direct access to the beach.

The Bayside offers quaint cottages, wandering roosters, unbelievable sunsets, easy walking access to landmark restaurants and those green pastel waters of the Caribbean. The choice is yours.

"those of us returning visitors know that the Bayside is a preferred location with the beach just a short 7 minute walk or 2 minute golf cart ride"
